The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The work is structurally sound. The unstretched canvas is unevenly cut. The unstretched canvas appears to be laid down in places along the reverse to the underlying mount. The impasto is well preserved. There are some soft handling marks to the wooden frame. There is some soft surface dust and dirt in places. Examination under ultraviolet light shows no indication of inpainting. It is our opinion that the work is in very good condition.
