The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.

Exterior exhibits dents, marks, cracks to the top lid, there are losses to the canvas, visible wear to the canvas covering the hinges, wooden slats appear to have been sandblasted. The lozine trim exhibits prominent patina, dents, marks and cracks. There are illegible initials faded on each side. The leather closure strap is missing. Hardware appears to have been cleaned and polished, still it exhibits dents and scratches.

Interior is incomplete, it exhibits humidity stains and marks. Interior top lid appears to have been restored, the ribbon and rivets are later replacement.
