The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.

Exterior exhibits significant scratches, dents and marks, visible wear to the canvas covering the hinges, some padding is added to the back side. Canvas appears to have been varnished, altering its original color to a darker tone. There are some losses to the canvas. It appears that the two leather handles have been replaced, still they exhibit prominent patina, scratches and creasing. The lozine trim exhibits dents, scratches and rust. Hardware exhibits oxidation, scratches and dents.

Interior upper lid appears to have been restored, still it exhibits humidity stains and marks.
