The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches and rubbing consistent with age and use.

Exterior exhibits dents, vertical cracks on the top lid, there are some losses to the canvas, visible wear and tear to the canvas covering the hinges, wooden slats exhibits dents. The lozine trim exhibits dents and scratches. The initials are faded. Locks appear to have been cleaned and polished, still it exhibits scratches and dents.

Interior is incomplete, the upper top lid appears to have been restored, still it exhibits marks and stains. The ribbon is a later replacement.
