Le tableau est exécuté sur un panneau composé d'une seule planche et biseauté le long de chaque bord.
Il présente très bien à la lumière naturelle, la fluidité de la peinture et la profondeur des couleurs étant bien préservées. L'ensemble est recouvert d'un vernis épais et brillant.
L'examen sous lumière UV révèle une petite retouche au niveau du cou du personnage endormi. Sinon, l'œuvre semble intacte.

The painting is executed on panel, made up of a single board and beveled to each edge.
It presents very well in natural light, with the fluidity of the paint and the depth of colour well preserved. The whole is under a thick, shiny varnish.
Examination under UV light revels a small spot of retouching to the sleeping figure's neck. Otherwise the work appears untouched.
