The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est sur sa toile d'origine. Celle-ci est correctement maintenue sous tensions sur un châssis à clés. L'ensemble est stable.
Au revers de la toile est visible une légère zone de restauration.

A l'oeil nu, le tableau se présente dans un très bel état : il a préservé la touche liquide du peintre ainsi que la profondeur de sa palette.
On constate des restaurations autour du visage et du chapeau du modèle masculin, ainsi qu'au-dessus du chapeau du modèle féminin (correspondant à la zone de restauration visible au revers susmentionnée).
Le tableau présente un réseau de craquelures stable dans le ciel, la mer et dans le mobilier en bas à gauche de la composition. Le tableau est très légèrement encrassé par endroits.

A l'UV, le tableau se présente dans un bon état général.

The canvas is unlined, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher. To the reverse of the canvas, a slight area of restoration is visible. The whole is stable.

The painting appears to be in very good condition overall: it has preserved the painter's fluid brushwork and the depth of colour. In natural light an area of restoration can be seen around the face and hat of the male model, as well as above the hat of the female model (corresponding to the restoration area visible on the reverse mentioned above). There is a fine network of craquelure in the sky, the sea and the furniture at the bottom left of the composition. The paint surface carries some dirt and would benefit from a light clean.

Under UV light, the painting is in good overall condition.
