The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The thick wool pile is full throughout resting well above the knot collar. The carpet has had a chemical surface wash at some stage which has softened the original red dye to a muted dusty mauve. There are a couple of minute spots of old repiling which amount to less than 1%. The original selvages have been partially rebound, both ends are missing a few knots and are in need of securing, one end has a short vertical split, measuring 7cm., that can be easily repaired. Overall this carpet is in very good condition
