Lot Essay

For a full discussion of the series of figures Le voci di Napoli see Angela Caròla-Perrotti, Le Porcellane Dei Borbone Di Napoli Capodimonte e Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea, 1986, chapter II.4. Although the present example is not recorded, it would appear to belong to this series. The figures were modelled by Guiseppe Gricci inspired by engravings by Annibale Carracci.
