This unusual form appears to have also been made in faience. Compare the example with removable figure (a box and figural cover) attributed to Strasbourg, formerly in the Lesley and Emma Sheafer Collection and now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, object no. 1974.356.255a, b.
