Both works are unlined with stable surfaces and minor craquelure. Both works have slightly dry paint surfaces. Under UV both works exhibit discolored old varnish layers. Within the skies of both there are areas of darker florescence apparent in the sky, though these do not appear to be inpainting and are more likely original pigments. In the work with the carriage moving toward the right, some inpainting can be seen under UV around the heads of the horses.
