The so-called churfürstliches Hofservice was most probably decorated by Joseph Zächenberger (1732-1802), and is generally regarded as Nymphenburg's finest achievement in terms of tablewares. For a discussion of the service, see Alfred Ziffer, Nymphenburger Porzellan, Sammlung Bäuml, Stuttgart, 1997, pp. 133-139, where the catalogue cites numerous other examples and illustrates ten other pieces.
