- Overall condition good. Traces of tarnish and scratches throughout. Crystal serviced. Gross weight: 232 gr. - O.Bachet & A. Cartier, 2020, expertise no. BC2003-14: Art Deco table clock with folding strut, Cartier Paris, circa 1920. Particularity: the originality of this clock lies in the use of the 'samorodok' technique for the decoration of the bezel. 'Samorodok' means 'nugget' in Russian. Very popular at the beginning of the XXth cenutry in Russia and notably at Fabergé, this technique consisted of heating the metal to a temperature close to its fusion point and then cooling it brusquely in water. The metal thus took on an irregular appearance evoking that of gold nuggets. - Dial signed France, partially erased. Stand signed Cartier Paris Londres New York, nos. 1865 72 3359. Movement signed E.W.C. Co. - Movement 15 jewels. - The onyx in good condition. - The pink guilloché enamel and the black enamel in good condition. - The diamonds all complete. - Movement ticking at time of cataloguing, working order and timekeeping cannot be guaranteed at time of purchase. - Please see Important Notice at the back of the catalogue for all clocks and watches and regarding coloured stones.
