- O.Bachet & A. Cartier, 2020, expertise no. BC2003-14: Art Deco table clock with folding strut, Cartier Paris, circa 1920. Particularity: the originality of this clock lies in the use of the 'samorodok' technique for the decoration of the bezel. 'Samorodok' means 'nugget' in Russian. Very popular at the beginning of the XXth cenutry in Russia and notably at Fabergé, this technique consisted of heating the metal to a temperature close to its fusion point and then cooling it brusquely in water. The metal thus took on an irregular appearance evoking that of gold nuggets.
