I DO NOT COUNT THE HOURS IF THEY ARE NOT BRILLIANT
The time is read by two cursors, one in the form of the sun, the other as a moon which appear alternatively during the day and the night. The minutes in Arabic numerals are indicated by a diamond-set hand in the shape of an openwork arrow.

- Overall condition good. A few traces of tarnish and scratches throughout. Diamond-set monogram 'JV' and 'HORAS NON NOTO NISI LUCIDAS' inscribed on the dial. Gross weight: 355 gr. - O.Bachet & A. Cartier, 2020, expertise no. BC2003-2: Semi-mystery 'Planet' 'Day and Night' desk clock with folding strut, Cartier Paris, 1913. Particularity: a rare timepiece combining the semi-mystery movement with a "day and night" feature. In a similar manner, as the mobile hour movement clocks, the sun and the crescent appear and disappear on the left and right side of the dial. This clock also shows the minutes with a minute hand. A Latin motto adds a touch of poetry. The two concentric bezels remind us of the armillary spheres of the Renaissance clock makers. - Case signed Cartier, no. 106755. - Movement 15 jewels. - The agate in good condition. - The blue guilloché enamel and the white and blue enamel in good condition. - The diamonds all complete. - Movement ticking at time of cataloguing, working order and timekeeping cannot be guaranteed at time of purchase. - Please see Important Notice at the back of the catalogue for all clocks and watches and regarding coloured stones.
