EARLY 20TH CENTURY 'COMET' SEMI-MYSTERY CLOCK, CARTIER
The 'Comet' clocks were manufactured between 1912 and 1920. These clocks were designed as a circular enamel dial, applied with a diamond-set comet-shaped hand pointing towards the hours. For the minutes, a marquise-shaped diamond was attached to a rotating circle under the bezel. The particularity of this model is that it has a diamond in the centre of the dial, which is screwed on the central axel. All the models created in crystal, such as lot 11, were set with a diamond-set circle on the outside of the bezel.
