- O.Bachet & A. Cartier, 2020, expertise no. BC2003-4: Art Deco desk clock with folding strut, Cartier Paris, 1926. Particularity: a rare example of a model whose decoration follows a disposition of succeeding concentric circles starting with the circular 'laque burgauté' dial in the center, surrounded by a circle of mother-of-pearl panels for the chapter ring applied with the gold Arabic numerals further surrounded by a repeating black enamel motif of Islamic arcades. As often can be seen in Cartier's production many Oriental influences were mixed on a piece. The idea being to place the beholder in a spirit of being in a faraway cultures. After entering the Parisian stock in 1926, the clock was sent to America to be sold int eh Cartier store on Fifth Avenue.
