The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Bon état général. Du côté gauche de multiples fissures sont visibles dont une plus importante traversant tout le corps. Certains coquillages ornementaux sont manquants ou cassés et pour la plupart avec des éraflures. Idem sur la partie ronde sous l’abdomen et de l’autre côté du visage ; fissure également visible partant de la bouche et une au-dessus. Quelques petits éclats sur le nez. Légères abrasions sur l’arrête sommitale. Petits trous au niveau de motif arrière du corps. Coquillages ornementaux partiellement manquant et cassés à l’arrière de la queue. Les deux nageoires de la queue sont cassées et recollées quasi à la jonction avec le corps. Pointe de la queue légèrement ébréchée. Patine confirme à l’ancienneté et à l’utilisation répétée de l’œuvre.

Good overall condition. On the left side, multiple cracks are visible, including a more significant one running through the entire body. Some of the decorative shells are missing or broken and are mostly scratched. The same applies to the rounded section beneath the abdomen and to the other side of the face; a crack is also visible extending from the mouth, with another above it. A few small chips are present on the nose. Light abrasion is visible along the upper ridge. Small holes are present in the rear decorative motif of the body. Decorative shells are partially missing and broken at the back of the tail. Both tail fins are broken and re-glued, almost at their junction with the body. The tip of the tail is slightly chipped. The patina is consistent with the age and repeated use of the piece.
