The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

- Overall condition good. Wear commensurate with age. Some small traces of tarnish, the brooch with some small areas of solder to the metal. Mesh links in good condition. Necklace clasp secure, brooch with single pin fitting, earrings with hook fittings. Case with minor signs of wear.
- Additional marks: French assay marks for gold (ram's, rhinoceros and eagle's heads).
- Emeralds: with a few lighter examples, with typical inclusions, a few surface reaching, some scratches and small nicks throughout.
- Rubies: with typical inclusions, a few surface reaching, some scratches and small nicks throughout, a few small chips.
