The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
- Overall condition good. Some small scratches, consistent with normal wear. Some small evidence of repair to one clip. With post and clip fittings. Outer box and pouch with some signs of wear.
- Additional marks: French and Swiss assay marks for 18 carat gold, 750, OR, one clip with partial maker's mark 'Vendôme column A' for Van Cleef & Arpels, number lasered on one clip and scratched on the other clip.
- Black mother-of-pearl: with typical iridescence with good play of colour, some typical blemishes such as abrasion marks and variations to nacre. Some polish marks to the reverse of a few petals. One petal chipped to the tips. On one of the earrings the petals move very slightly in the mounting, but set securely.
- Diamonds: total stated weight 0.98 carat.
- Van Cleef & Arpels: valuation for insurance purposes dated 2009 (£15,900).
