The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This painting presents as clean overall. A crease runs near horizontally from the gold rule across the pink mountain and finishes on the rocky outcrop close to the tree. There is a small area of flaking, close to leading to a loss above the brown rock at the bottom left of the painting. The green pigment has lightly dulled in places. This is notable in semi-circular area running from behind the ruler's elbow down to the darker brown animal below. Further scuffing can be seen in the upper right corner of the painting.
