OTTOMAN TURKEY, PERIOD OF SULTAN 'ABD AL-HAMID II (R.1876-1909 AD)
Each with plain decoration, the ewer with squat round body rising from a straight foot to a wide gently sloping rim, the ewer with drop-shaped body, bell-shaped hinged lid with floral bud knop, curved spout and serpentine handle with thumb rest in the form of a rising and swaying foliate leaf motif, the body, lid and basin with assay, sah and tughra marks, very good condition
The ewer 11 ¼in. (28.5cm.) high, the basin 13 ¼in. (33.8cm.) diam.
