The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The paper is in generally fairly good condition and the pigments remain mostly strong.
Executed on wove paper and not laid down. There are scattered creases and some scattered scratches. There is some scattered surface dirt and very occasional and very unobtrusive foxing. There are some pigment losses, mainly in the centre left.

The paper is in generally good condition and the media remain strong.
Executed on laid paper and not laid down. The sheet is fixed to its mount with strips of acidic tape at the verso. There is discoloration to the paper but this is mostly visible at the verso. There are some tears at the edges (the largest circa 5 cm.) and there are some scattered light scratches. There is some abrasion along the upper edges.
