The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

La Scala, Milan:
The sheet is in good condition overall, apart from two restorations along the upper edge. The media remain strong and fresh.
The sheet is fully laid down on board. The sheet is fixed to its mount with two strips of modern tape along the right and left edges. There is some discoloration to the paper along the edges and in the sky. There are repaired losses and two repaired tears (the largest being circa 8 cm.) and there are some scattered unobtrusive foxmarks.

The cathedral of Milan:
The paper is in good condition and the media remain strong and fresh.
Executed on laid paper and fully laid down on the mount. There are a few unobtrusive stains and there is one scratch in the upper centre.
