The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall condition consistent with age and use; the canvas of both cases with some scuffs and scratches and several white and cream coloured marks (possibly paint) including around the lock and along the edges of opening/inner edge, the leather binding with scuffs, scratches, some small losses and areas of wear with white and other dirt marks, the brass with scratches and tarnishing, the interior of both cases, in a fair condition, some cream marks similar to the cream marks along the inner edge and other small dirt marks to canvas, some light dust and dirt, some damage to the labels; the handles with some discolouration through use, some scuff and scratch marks, and some cream coloured marks (possibly paint marks).
