Lot Essay
This dress was designed as part of the Livia Firth Green Carpet Challenge, which gave designers the opportunity to demonstrate their 'green' credentials. It was worn by Nicole Kidman to the Melbourne Derby Day at Flemington Racecourse on 3 November 2012. The design is reminiscent of Cecil Beaton's creation for Audrey Hepburn's Ascot scene in the film 'My Fair Lady'. Although this dress bears a ‘Yorkshire Pudding’ label, it was a special one-off made for Miss Kidman and utilised a remnant role of lace to ensure the dress’s Eco credentials.
