'L'Wren's permanent romanticism was new found for me and her soliloquies on beauty, a better past and how it all SHOULD be, were persuasive, hypnotizing and suspended time and reality. But I also now recognize in a far deeper way, her attempts to create and maintain an ideal, were also her commentary on a dissatisfaction with the current fast paced culture and a longing for gentility, for poetry, for prose, for time spent on a possible lasting effort.
She will be a beacon for young, dreaming designers. For students not just of fashion but history, architecture and meaningful devotion to love of craft.'

Sarah Jessica Parker wore this dress to attend the 29th Annual Fashion Group International Night of Stars in New York in October 2012, and was photographed at the event with L'Wren Scott (who was wearing the previous lot). The fabric for this dress was exactly copied from a rainbow striped rayon gown of the 1930s.
