The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The panel consists of one sheet of very thin wood. The varnish is slightly yellowed. In natural light no obvious damages or retouchings can be detected. The original impasto and pigments appear to be very nicely preserved. Overall the painting appears to be in excellent and authentic condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals a few very minor cosmetic retouchings predominantly in the corners and along the right edge. Varnish lights up green making a more detailed reading difficult.
