The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas has been relined with a wax lining. The varnish is slightly yellowed. The original impasto and pigments appear to be nicely preserved. There are minor stretcher marks visible along the left and right vertical edge. In natural light no obvious damages or retouchings can be detected, except for a pinpoint sized paint loss in the centre right, which has been retouched, and some very small stattered spots of cosmetic retouchings. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals the aforementioned retouchings. Varnish lights up green making a more detailed reading difficult.
