The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Oil on paper laid down on panel, panel is straight and bevelled on all four edges. The varnish is slightly yellowed. In natural light no obvious damages or retouchings can be detected, except for a soft diagonal fold in the lower right corner. The original impasto and pigments appear to be nicely preserved. Examination under ultraviolet light shows cosmetic retouchings in the upper left and lower right corners.
