拍品的状况可能存在极大差异，而由于其性质使然，拍品难以处于完美无瑕的状态。拍品均以拍卖时的状况出售。

The canvas is supported with a rather tight lining having caused the painted surface to flatten slightly.
The varnish is somewhat yellowed.
In natural light no obvious damages or retouchings can be seen. The dark pigments in the shadowy parts of the trees appear to have sunk with age.
UV light reveals retouchings along the left, right and upper edge, in addition to filled-in craquelure throughout the sky. Besides the sky the rest of the composition appears well preserved and shows very little strengthening, for instance a little in the boat and retouching to the water in the lower left and right corner, and some spots of retouching in the path in the centre foreground. Otherwise the varnish lights up green.
