The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas has not been lined. The varnish is slightly yellowed. A fine pattern of minor ageing craquelure visible near the lower right edge. In natural light no obvious damages or retouchings can be detected. The original impasto and pigments appear to be beautifully preserved. Overall the painting appears to be in very good and authentic condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals an unevenly applied varnish. Varnish lights up green making a more detailed reading difficult.
