The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The panel consists of one sheet of wood and is bevelled on all four edges. The varnish is slightly dirty and minor surface dirt is visible. In natural light no obvious damages or retouches can be detected. Minor frame abrasions visible along the edges. Original impasto and pigments appear to be very nicely preserved. The paint layer is secure and in good condition. Overall the painting appears to be in good and authentic condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals an unevenly applied varnish and a few minor cosmetic retouchings in the upper corners. Varnish lights up green making a more detailed reading difficult.
