The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The canvas is unlined. The varnish is discoloured with a few minor areas of ageing craquelure visible locally. In natural light no obvious damages or retouching visible. Some minor frame abrasions visible. The original impasto and pigments appear to be nicely preserved. Overall the painting appears to be in good and authentic condition. Varnish lights up green making a more detailed reading difficult.
