English
The painting is executed on oak panel made up of three vertically joined boards, the left-hand panel join is supported to the reverse by two butterfly joints to the upper and lower edge and 15 square joints. The right hand joint has seen from the reverse is supported by nine square joints. The panel is beveled to each edge. The panel remains stable.
The painting presents well and natural light with the overall detail of the composition well preserved notably in the central flowers to the floral blue bouquet such as the irises and tulips. In a raking light scattered retouching can be seen to the backgrounds and in the table top. There appears to have been some thinning to the upper paint glazes. Retouching can be seen along the floor at the aforementioned panel joins. This is most noticeable to the right hand panel join as seen from the painted side of the work.
Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. The whole is under an uneven, slightly cloudy varnish which precludes a more in-depth examination of the work, however it does appear that the flowers are in a very nice state of preservation.
