Connus dans toute l’Europe, les modèles de Falconet sont notamment repris en Italie où perdure au XIXe et au XXe siècle une tradition de reproduction des œuvres classiques ; à l’instar de cette Baigneuse qu'Antonio Garella (1863-1919) sculpte d’après celle réalisée en 1757 par Etienne-Maurice Falconet (1716-1791) et conservée au musée du Louvre (inv. MR 1846).

The pictures of the catalogue are accurate but the Baigneuse is more impressive in reality (lifesize). Some grey veins inherent with marterial. There surface scratches nicks, stains and dust due to a outdoor exposure. Some traces of lichen including the head, back and base. Some chips including to her proper right chick, the back of her neck, the upper part of her proper right thigh. Some holes, including filled in holes, inherente with the material. Some brown/grey drips due to water espacially to her face, shoulders, torso and legs. A small trace of cement to the back of the drapery who could be easly removed.
