On spreading foot chased with large gadroons, the tree trunk shaped stem between two silver calyxes, the bowl and cover formed of bosses to simulate a bunch of grapes, the cover with flower bouquet finial, engraved on cover with accolé coats-of-arms beneath initials M.V.F., marked on foot-rim: maker, another maker's mark possibly BR or RR and illegible mark; on bowl rim: town and maker; on on cover: maker; assay scrape to underside of foot

The letters M.V.F. could refer to the Latin phrase 'Mea Virtus Fecit' which translates as 'My Strength did it'.
