Le tableau est peint sur un panneau légèrement convexe au revers duquel se trouve un bas-relief des armoiries de l'ordre des Carmes déchaux. L'ensemble est stable.
A l'oeil nu, on constate des taches blanches se rapprochant d'éclaboussures sur l'ensemble de la composition. Des repeints ayant viré sont visibles dans le sol et le ciel. Les figures centrales et le groupe de gauche semblent avoir fait l'objet de restaurations dans les bruns et dans les tons sombres qui ont viré, adoptant un aspect brillant. Le tableau est sous un vernis encrassé et sec.
A l'UV, le tableau se présente sous un vernis non homogène opaque empêchant d'examiner les campagnes de restauration antérieures mais révèle quelques retouches plus récentes telles qu'au-dessus des angelots le long du bord supérieur et dans la bordure de la cape blanche de la carmélite.
La matière reste stable.
Dans un cadre en bois sculpté doré, à marguerites (approx. 78 x 67,5 x 7 cm).

The painting is executed on a slightly convex panel, to the reverse of which is a bas-relief of the coat of arms of the Order of Discalced Carmelites. The support is stable.
The surface of the painting carries some dirt in the form of white splashes, this should be cleaned. There is some scattered retouching in the sky and ground that has slightly discoloured with age. The browns and the dark tones in the central figures and the group on the left appear to have been retouched. The painting is under a dry, dirty varnish.
Examination under UV light is precluded by the varnish, but some more recent retouching, such as above the cherubs along the upper edge and in the border of the Carmelite nun's white cloak can be made out. The paint remains stable.
In a carved giltwood frame with a floral motif (approx. 78 x 67.5 x 7 cm).
