The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau a fait l’objet d’un rentoilage, qui a pu tasser la matière picturale par endroits. Il est sur un châssis rapporté à clés.
A l’œil nu, on constate un manque à approx. 34 cm du bord inférieur et approx. 47 cm du bord gauche. On constate aussi de nombreux repeints ayant viré dans le ciel ainsi que dans la partie gauche du tableau. Les parties brunes ont perdu en glacis. Les figures ont préservé une jolie matière, particulièrement les moines, à gauche de la composition.
A l’UV, on constate les restaurations précédemment mentionnées, principalement dans la zone gauche de la composition, à approx. 20 cm du bord gauche. Le tableau est sous un vernis épais dissimulant certainement d’anciennes campagnes de restauration.
Dans un cadre en bois doré mouluré, travail moderne (approx. 123 x 181 x 3,5 cm).

The painting has been relined, which has slightly flattened the upper impasto layers in places. It is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher.
In natural light two small losses can be seen, one approx. 34 cm from the lower edge and one approx. 47 cm from the left edge. Quite extensive overpainting can be seen in the sky and to the left-hand side of the painting. There has been some thinning to the browns. The modeling in the figures, particularly the monks on the left of the composition, is well preserved.
Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. The painting is under a thick varnish, which prevents the examination of previous restoration campaigns.
In a modern giltwood frame (approx. 123 x 181 x 3.5 cm).
