The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau a fait l’objet d’un rentoilage, correctement réalisé.
A l’œil nu, on constate des manques, notamment dans la partie gauche du tableau, dans la partie supérieure à approx. 10 cm du bord supérieur, et au-dessus de la tête de l’Enfant Jésus. Le tableau possède dans l’ensemble une jolie matière. Il est très sale, et sous un vernis jauni.
A l’UV, on constate une vieille restauration correspondant à un ancien manque sur un des angelots. On constate des restaurations dans le vêtement de la Vierge, comblant probablement d’anciens manques, ainsi que quelques retouches ponctuelles dans la partie gauche du tableau et sur le manteau rouge de l’Enfant Jésus. Une restauration plus débordante est dans le coin inférieur droit. Sous un vernis uniforme épais dissimulant probablement d’anciennes campagnes de restauration.
Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés (approx. 115 x 95 x 6 cm).

The painting has been correctly relined.
In natural light some minor scattered losses can be seen, notably to the left-hand side of the painting, to the upper edge of the canvas approx. 10 cm from the top edge, and above the head of the Infant Jesus. Overall, the fluidity of execution remains fully appreciable however. The varnish carries a lot of dirt and has yellowed, this would benefit from cleaning.
Examination under UV light shows an area of restoration on one of the cherubs, corresponding to an old loss. There are restorations to the Virgin's robes, probably also restoring historic losses, as well as some scattered retouching in the left-hand part of the painting and on Jesus's red mantle. There is a more extensive area of restoration in the lower right-hand corner. Under a thick uniform varnish that may conceal further restoration campaigns.
In a giltwood and stucco frame (approx. 115 x 95 x 6 cm).
