La peinture est sur sa toile d'origine. Elle est sur un châssis à clefs, la toile est légèrement distendue sur le châssis.
A l'oeil nu, on ne constate pas de repeints visibles. Le tableau est encrassé, jauni.
A l'UV, on constate des retouches récentes dans le visage du modèle et le long du bord gauche. On ne distingue pas d'autres retouches récentes. Le tableau est sous un vernis ancien épais pouvant dissimuler des restaurations antérieures.

The canvas is unlined; it is held under tension on a keyed stretcher, there is some slight warping over the stretcher. It remains stable.
In natural light the painting presents very well, no retouching can be seen. The varnish has yellowed slightly and carries some dirt.
Examination under UV light reveals some minor retouching to the sitter's face and along the left-hand edge. There does not appear to be any further recent restoration. The yellowed varnish may conceal further historic retouching.
In a giltwood frame (approx. 110 x 150 x 5 cm).
