Le tableau est sur sa toile d'origine, correctement maintenue sous tension sur un châssis rapporté, à clés. L'ensemble est stable.

A l'oeil nu, le tableau se présente dans un bel état général. Il a conservé de jolis tons dans le drapé du costume et dans les carnations du modèle.
On constate deux restaurations dans le visage du modèle : une restauration mineure au niveau de son sourcil gauche et une plus importante sous son oeil gauche. Celles-ci n'entravent néanmoins pas la lecture de l'oeuvre.

L'examen à l'UV confirme les observations susmentionnées et révèle de nombreuses retouches ponctuelles dans les fonds, tout particulièrement le long du bord gauche ainsi que dans le coin supérieur gauche. On constate également des retouches ponctuelles moins nombreuses dans le drapé, les cheveux et la gorge du modèle. Le tableau se présente sous un vernis fin. La matière reste stable.

The canvas is unlined, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable.

The painting presents very well in natural light. The colours have retained a good depth in the costume and the flesh tones. Two points of retouching can be seen in the sitter's face, a minor one by her left eyebrow and a larger one under her left eye. These do not affect the legibility of the composition.

Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. It further reveals scattered retouching in the background, notably along the left edge and in the upper left corner. There is also scattered retouching in the costume, hair and neck of the sitter. The painting is under a thin varnish. The paint is stable.
