The painting has been correctly relined. It is mounted on a keyed stretcher.In natural light we can see that the paint surface carries some dirt, and there has been some slight discolouration to some areas, notably to the retouching in the water and the sails. Under UV light retouching can be seen in the clouds and sky. More recent retouching can also be seen in the sails and certain ships. There is scattered restoration along the lower edge.The varnish has been partially cleaned in the upper part of the composition. There are traces of old varnish in the lower part and the lower right corner.In a giltwood frame (approx. 81.5 x 97 x 6 cm).

Le tableau a fait l'objet d'un rentoilage, correctement réalisé. Il est sur un châssis rapporté à clefs. Le tableau est encrassé et on constate que certains pigments ont légèrement viré.
A l'oeil nu, on constate des vieux repeints ayant viré dans l'eau et dans les voiles.
A l'UV, on constate des repeints anciens dans les nuages et dans le ciel. On constate également des repeints plus récents dans les voiles et certains pavillons. On constate des restaurations ponctuelles le long du bord inférieur.Le tableau est sous un vernis partiellement nettoyé dans la partie supérieure. Traces de vernis ancien dans la partie inférieure et le coin inférieur droit.
Dans un cadre en bois doré (approx. 81,5 x 97 x 6 cm).

The painting has been subject to a relining, it is held under correct tension on a keyed stretcher and remains stable. The paint surface carries some dirt, and there has been some discolouration in the whites.
In natural light, some scattered retouching can be seen in the water and in the sails, which have slightly discoloured with age.
Under UV light, scattered retouching can be seen in the clouds and sky. More recent restoration can also be seen in the sails and certain flags. The painting is under a varnish that has been selectively cleaned in the upper part of the composition, traces of the old varnish are visible in the lower half and the lower righthand corner.
In a giltwood frame (approx. 81.5 x 97 x 6 cm).
