The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est exécuté sur panneau de chêne, parqueté au revers. On note quelques légères griffures au revers du panneau le long du bord droit, ainsi que sur le parquetage le long des bords supérieur et inférieur. Le panneau demeure stable.
Le tableau présente très bien à la lumière naturelle, avec la délicatesse d'exécution des arbres, les reflets dans l'eau et les personnages en bas à gauche remarquablement bien conservés. Une jointure horizontale du panneau avec des retouches associées est visible, traversant le centre de la composition dans le ciel. On note des traces de retouches dans le ciel, notamment dans le coin supérieur gauche. Le vernis semble légèrement irrégulier et présente quelques salissures. On observe une très légère rayure mesurant environ 8 mm, dans l'eau au coin inférieur droit. Les bords du panneau présentent de légères abrasions dues au cadre.
L'examen sous lumière ultraviolette confirme les observations ci-dessus. On distingue quelques retouches supplémentaires mineures et éparses dans le ciel, principalement dans le sens du fil du bois. Le tableau est par ailleurs en bon état général.

The painting is executed on oak panel, this is cradled to the reverse. There are some minor scratches to the reverse of the panel along the right hand edge and in the cradle along the top and bottom edges. The panel remains stable.
The painting presents very well in natural light, with the delicacy of execution in the trees, the reflections in the water, and the figures at lower left very beautifully preserved. A horizontal panel join with associated retouching can be seen running across the centre of the composition in the sky. There is evidence of some retouching to the sky most notably in the upper left-hand corner. The varnish appears to be slightly patchy, and carries some dirt. There is a very minor hairline scratch, measuring approximately 8 mm in the water in the lower right hand corner. There is some minor frame abrasion to the panel edges.
Examination under UV light confirms the above observations. There is some further minor scattered retouching in the sky, mostly along the panel grain. The painting is otherwise in good condition overall.
