The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is unlined, it is held under tension on its stretcher and remains stable. To the reverse four small patches can be seen, three at upper left and one at centre left.

The painting presents very well in natural light. The paint as retained beautiful impasto and depth of colour. There is some minor dirt along the upper canvas edge.

Examination under UV light confirms the painting to be in excellent condition. There are four very minor spots of restoration that correspond with the four patches mentioned above.
