STORCK / AMSTERDAM 1653-1710 / F. NADAL' (approx. 103 x 84 cm.).

The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension and remains stable. The relining process has somewhat flattened the impasted areas.
In natural light the painting presents well, with the detail of the composition fully appreciable. Some scattered retouching can be observed in the sky. The upper paint glazes in the staffage have somewhat thinned, allowing the under paint to be seen in places.
Examination under UV light confirms the above. Further minor scattered retouching can be seen in the architectural elements. The varnish has been partially cleaned.
In a giltwood and stucco frame with Bérain-style decorations - with a cartouche 'A. STORCK / AMSTERDAM 1653-1710 / F. NADAL' (approx. 103 x 84 x cm.).
