Le tableau est peint sur une toile marouflée sur panneau. On constate des cavités historiques d'insectes xylophages sur le panneau. Ils sont aujourd'hui inactifs mais leur présence dans le passé a probablement entraîné les pertes d'éléments du panneau dans le coin supérieur droit et le long du bord supérieur droit.
A l’œil nu, deux fenêtres de restauration sont visibles le long du bord droit. On constate un petit manque dans le coin supérieur gauche. On constate également des retouches dans les carnations du modèle, principalement dans les mains et la gorge, ainsi que des retouches ponctuelles dans les drapés bruns. Un léger réseau de craquelures est visible dans les carnations. La matière reste stable.
A la lampe UV, on constate des retouches ponctuelles sur l'ensemble de la composition, principalement dans les cheveux.
Dans un cadre de style XVIIe (approx. 98 x 82 x 9 cm.).

The painting has been executed on a canvas laid down on panel. The panel has traces of historic woodworm, this is no longer active. However, the panel has lost a small portion to the upper right corner and upper right edge likely caused to instability due to historic woodworm activity.
In natural light, two small cleaning tests can be seen to the right hand edge. There is a minor loss to the upper left hand corner. There is evidence of retouching to the fresh tones notably in the hands and the neck, and some scattered retouching in the brown drapery. There is a fine pattern of craquelure visible in the flesh tones. The paint remains stable.
Examination in the UV light shows scattered retouching overall, notably to the hair.
In a 17th century style frame (approx. 98 x 82 x 9 cm.).
