Le tableau est peint sur une plaque de cuivre non parquetée. Le support est stable.

A l'œil nu, on constate des retouches ponctuelles dans les carnations de l'Enfant et de la Vierge, ainsi que dans le manteau de la Vierge. Celles-ci n'altèrent pas la lisibilité du tableau qui préserve un joli modelé.

A l'UV, on constate une importante retouche verticale d'approx. 7 cm. à travers l'Enfant (de sa hanche au drapé rouge de la Vierge). L'examen révèle également des retouches importantes sur le visage de la Vierge, ainsi que dans le fond. On constate aussi une retouche dans le drapé rouge de la Vierge, le long du bord inférieur. Sous un vernis fin.

Dans un cadre en bois et stuc dorés (approx. 36 x 31 cm.).

The painting is executed on copper, the support remains stable.

In natural light minor scattered retouching can be seen in the flesh tones and in the Virgin’s cloak. The modelling of the composition remains fully appreciable.

Examination under UV light reveals a larger area of retouching that extends for 7 cm. from the Child’s hip into the Virgin’s red cloak. There is further retouching in the Virgin’s face and in the background. There is some retouching in the cloak along the lower edge. The whole is covered by a thin varnish. The paint remains stable.

In a giltwood and plaster frame (approx. 36 x 31 cm.).
