The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est exécuté à la plume, l'encre brune et l'huile sur un papier calque contrecollé sur une toile.

Le papier est plié et froissé par endroits sur l'ensemble de la composition mais la couche picturale reste intacte.

L'examination à l'UV révèle différentes zones de comblement et de retouches sur l'ensemble de la composition. L'épaisseur du vernis ne permet néanmoins pas de discerner convenablement les anciennes campagnes de restauration.

L'oeuvre présente bien, dans un un cadre en bois et stuc dorés de style (approx. 34 x 39 x 5 cm.) – la toile est encadrée par un cadre interne dans la structure globale (approx. 21 x 26 x 2 cm.).

The paper shows several folds and creases but overall the paint layer is intact.

Examination under UV light shows several spots of inpainting and retouching throughout, but this is difficult to read due to an opaque varnish layer.

Overall the work presents well in a gilt period style frame (approx. 34 x 39 x 5 cm.) – with an inner frame around the canvas (approx. 21 x 26 x 2 cm.).
