The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Le tableau est peint sur un panneau de chêne légèrement biseauté composé de plusieurs planches. Le panneau n'est pas parqueté. Le support est parfaitement stable.
A l'oeil nu, le tableau a préservé une jolie matière, un beau modelé et des couleurs vibrantes.
A la lumière rasante, on constate les jointures des planches.
A l'UV, on constate des restaurations le long des jointures de planches ainsi que quelques restaurations ponctuelles de la taille d'une tête d'épingle réparties sur l'ensemble de la composition. Certains bruns dans les drapés du personnage assis le plus à gauche de la composition ont été légèrement remontés, ainsi que certains bruns dans les visages de certains soldats et des putti. Sous un vernis partiellement nettoyé avec des traces de vieux vernis par endroits.
Dans un cadre en bois peint noir et doré, avec un cartouche 'NIC. BERTIN. / (BERTINI)' (approx. 79 x 63 cm.).

The painting is executed on oak panel, made up of more than one board, it is beveled to the edges. The panel is not cradled and remains stable.
The painting presents very well in natural light, the depth of colour and the fluidity of modeling are well preserved.
Examination under UV light reveals some retouching along the panel joins, as well as some very minor scattered retouching to the rest of the composition. There has been some strengthening to the brown tones of the clothing of the figure at far left, in the faces of the soldiers and in the putti. The varnish has been partially cleaned.
