There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches, nicks and chips due to age and use. As stated in the catalogue, both figures are architectural fragments, possibly from an altar piece. Both are carved in high relief. There are chips and losses to some points including the hair, hands, drapery. Visible cracks, including to one arm which has been refixed. Some restorations including to the hands and the noses. There are losses to the figures including one arm for each. Traces of painting. Later metal elements to the back to hang the figures to the wall, and traces to the back of old fixation holes. Both backs slightly hollowed.
Very interesting pair with a very nice quality of carving.
